I thought the phrases did a really good job explaining the concept of seasons in an inventive and interesting way.

The book goes through each season and gives the characteristics of each of them. The book also has illustrations of a child doing activities that any child might be doing during each season.

Another reason why I really liked this book is because it gives the students an idea of why certain things happen during different times of the year. One way this could be used in a classroom is when talking about the different seasons during science. Another way that this book could be used is by breaking the class up into four groups, one for each season, and having each student ask 3 more questions about seasons that the book did not already ask. When I was looking for a non-fiction book, I decided to pick a story that would integrate with another subject. I am writing a lesson plan on seasons for science so I figured this story was perfect. Through the use of illustration and descriptive words Cash is able to give younger children the ability to understand each season. This would be an awesome book to use in a Kindergarten or 1st grade classroom when the students are learning about seasons.

The use of rhyming makes the story a fun and light read. There is the possibility for a book about seasons to be dry, but Cash is able to make this book super engaging through her literary techniques and illustrations.

This book focuses more on seasons rather than weather, but it worked very well for the weather storytime. After talking about the main weather that each season brings, Cash briefly talked about the rotation of the earth around the sun. Those points were very well stated for young learners.

It was explained in a way that what makes the seasons by megan montague cash the point across very well, but also did so in a way that a child could follow along and understand. If the child can't read or doesn't understand the words that well yet, the illustrations do a great job at telling the story.
