I have the synthetic stocked. I've been waiting for someone to start making them too. Marlin has expanded the line this year to include wood stock models and three new short-action calibers. Unfortunately they still don't sell the stocks separately. I just got an '09 catalog and the laminated stock looks pretty nice. Based on the success of the rifle, my guess is that it's only a matter of time before someone jumps in and starts making aftermarket parts if we can't get them from Marlin.
